Pattern-Play Passover
So I’ve become a recent collector of 18th c. Chinese export porcelain and almost anything with an Imari pattern on it. I love the combination of the peach, orange, apricot, shades of blue and pops of green. It is calming and yet playful with the patchwork of patterns and florals. It felt like the perfect vibe to pull in for this Passover look.

I’ve had the opportunity to attend a Seder or two (I like to say I’m Jew-ish… heavy on the ish) and while Passover is most certainly rooted and steeped in deep and meaningful tradition, it is playful and reflective (there is a lot of wine involved) at least the ones I’ve attended and in any good gathering, there are never enough tables or chairs, the more the merrier, and yet, no one ever runs out of food.
I selected this linen for the color connection to the vintage Arita platters and covered dishes, but also for the scallop reflected on the border. The simple porcelain dishes let the patterns play and carry your eyes across the table. Lastly, I really loved the gold, silver and grey marble tones in the Seder plate. It pulls in mixed metals and accents the dishes so beautifully.
