Whether you’re hosting an intimate gathering or a full-blown backyard fiesta, there’s one star that never fails to steal the show: the margarita bar.
Go Bold or Go Home
This is your moment to lean into vibrant hues. Think sunset oranges, chili reds, marigold yellows, turquoise blues, and pops of fuchsia. Layer woven textiles over your table, string papel picado overhead, and let your glassware sparkle in a rainbow of color. Bonus points for hand-painted tiles as coasters or trays.
Set an Unforgettable Margarita Bar
Build a bar that’s as fun to look at as it is to sip from. Here’s how:
1 \ Start with Quality Basics
- Silver tequila (and maybe a smoky mezcal, if that’s your vibe)
- Freshly squeezed lime juice (sans seeds)
- Cointreau
- Agave or Simple Syrup
2 \ Make it Fresh With Elevated Ingredients (such as)
- Fresh fruits and juices: mango, strawberry, blood orange, watermelon, pomegranate
- Herbs: basil, mint, cilantro
- Get Spicy: sliced jalapeños, chili salt rims, Tajín
3 \ Rim Station: Set up small bowls with coarse salt, Tajín, and/or fine sugar. Include lime wedges or a separate dish with lime juice for easy glass prep.
4 \ Garnish Game: Skewer sliced citrus, edible flowers and/or dried fruit wheels—don’t hold back.
5 \ Ice, Ice, Baby or Maybe?: Crushed or cubed, heck, add a blender for frozen or a shaker for serving margs up. Point is. You need ice.
6 \ Make It Personal: Provide recipe cards or signage for signature mixes or let guests name their own creation for a friendly competition
