DC Holiday Hotel Bar Crawl

December 16, 2025

For those of you that love holiday cheer and lights and aren’t afraid of a little holiday “spirit”, the historic hotels of Washington, D.C. offer a whole lot of both. We’ve created a little ‘Washington, DC Historic Hotel Holiday Decor Bar Crawl’ itinerary to set you on your way. The first stop isn’t a hotel but a fun vibe for kicking off the day.

Start: Buffalo + Bergen at Union Market their Bagels + Bloody Mary’s are it! You can also enjoy brunch at a variety of other vendors in the market.

Quill at The Jefferson Hotel – they currently have a hot chocolate trolley but my favorite is their cocktail classic, Sidecar at Quill. If you are up for it, take a look at their secret library that houses volumes from the 1700’s and 1800’s

The St. Regis – known for their champagne sabering every evening at 5:00 pm, they are also known for their gorgeous gingerbread displays at the holidays. Fun Fact, every St. Regis has their own version of The Bloody Mary. DC has the “Capital Mary” with a crab feast on the Chesapeake flavor profile. They also have a beautiful tea service in the lobby.

Off The Record at The Hay Adams – over looking Lafayette Square, The Hay Adams is one of the most iconic historical hotels in DC. Head downstairs to Off The Record. You will likely spot a politician or two and maybe a celeb sighting if you are lucky. Make sure you snag one of their caricature coasters. Their martini collection cannot be missed.

The Round Robin Bar at The Willard – a gorgeous round, wood paneled bar overlooking the corner of 14th and Penn is your next stop. Known for their Mint Julep you won’t want to miss it. Also, make sure you look up in the lobby and walk Peacock Alley. If you prefer you can make reservations for high tea with seatings at noon and 2:30 pm.

Waldorf Astoria – arguably one of the most gilded hotels in DC, you can’t help but be impressed by the stunning stature of the Old Post Office Pavilion turned luxury hotel. The lobby bar- also known as Peacock Alley features an array of cocktails for you to sip on while admiring their decor.

The Riggs Hotelone of my favorite hotels for its history, coziness and options. The lobby bar never disappoints and is built into the old Riggs Bank. You can also make a reservation for Silver Lyan for an unparalleled craft cocktail experience. Make sure you check out the trophy room.

The Pendry – last stop! Head up to Moonraker for sweeping views of the Potomac River, a delicious Asian inspired menu and uber chic vibes.

Cheers! – Danielle
